“An adventure in the power of dreaming.” –C. Michael Smith, Ph.D., author of Jung and Shamanism in Dialogue

A deeply satisfying read, smaller than a novel and rich and complex as a fine square of chocolate.

When Veronika’s grandmother, storyteller and keeper of secrets, draws her young granddaughter into a story, Veronika has no idea that she’s about to step into a dreaming place, a strange world where magic floats in the chilly air.

Time works differently in and around this dream world. Stories unwind, and challenges that existed decades ago may cycle back around at any moment. Everything begins to feel as if it’s happening at once.

Veronika’s grandmother answers an unexpected call to action. If she fails, the lives of people she loves may be at risk.

Too soon, story time is over for Veronika. A confusing power is stirring inside her, dreams are beginning to call her, and mysterious gifts await.

In this debut novelette, you can almost feel the many pathways of power that call to all of us if we choose to listen.

Susan Pound

Susan Pound grew up in the Chicago area, right under the flight patterns of O’Hare Airport. She has always had four compulsions: writing, photography, trying to change the world, and salting food before tasting it.

Her career path took her down a variety of nitty-gritty, nonprofit roads–counseling, social services and education administration, grants development. For a long time, creative writing took a back seat.

Her book journey changed all that.

Susan currently lives and takes nature photos (with her phone, it’s easier!) by the inspirational shores of Chain of Lakes in Indiana. She writes about dreams that can change the world…and she still shakes her salt too freely.
